Decide – Commit – Focus – Succeed
In January, we thought we would adapt our approach to strategic developments at Westek Technology Ltd by cementing specific pledges for the year, ensuring they were not ‘things we would like to do’.
We decided on 7 pledges and committed to them by providing strategic focus that would lead to another year of success at Westek.
As a form of update:
Pledge 1 Wellbeing: We introduced a birthday scheme where employees would be gifted their birthday off without affecting annual leave allowance. This has really worked well to provide deserved downtime on a precious day for our employees.
Pledge 2 Innovation: We focused on not only product development by providing specific budget, but also focussed on our operational business processes of which we have been systemising to improve efficiencies.
Pledge 3 Sustainability: As part of our planning towards ISO 14001, we launched our Waste Initiative, partnering with a service provider to manage our impact on the environment.
Pledge 4 Communication: Greater emphasis has been applied to our internal communication to employees and also external partners, maintaining strong relationships.
Pledge 5 Training: 2025 has seen the highest investment in employee development, both personal and organisational.
Pledge 6 Certification: As well as doubling down on our ISO 9001 and Cyber Essentials + certifications, we are planning to achieve both ISO 14001 and 45001 in Q4 this year.
Pledge 7 Partnerships: Probably the cornerstone to our success, we have onboarded new service providers in key strategic areas as well as building on existing partnerships who have supported Westek for many years.
Luckily we like being busy, and seeing the improvements the pledges are creating makes it all worthwhile.
