Westek believe that investing in early career development helps build an agile, future-proof company. With that in mind, we’re proud to introduce Rob White, our first employee hired as part of our career development programme.
Rob is studying Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering MEng, and we met at University of Bath careers fair in 2023. Now he’s halfway through his assignment, we wanted to find out how he’s finding life at Westek.
“I chose to complete a placement at Westek due to the opportunity presented to me at the growing and developing company. This was important to me as I have felt my output has been valued and the work I have completed will make a difference to the company in the future.
I have enjoyed working with a variety of people across a range of departments in order to successfully complete tasks ranging from testing and quality management to helping develop new products and the process that guides them.
Placements are important to me as I have always wanted to develop myself and the skills that I have, this includes putting skills I have previously learned into use but also learning new hard and soft skills.”
Rob is a great addition to the team, and proof that supporting career development opportunities provides benefits to all involved.
